Jean Paul Gaultier's exhibit, From the Sidewalk to the Catwalk ran at the Brooklyn Museum from October 25, 2013 - February 23, 2014. Although this exhibition is no longer viewing, I wanted to share some highlights with those who missed it. They did such an amazing job curating the exhibit. It really captured the essence of his work throughout the decades. I was blown away by the elaborate details of each piece. Everything was so beautifully crafted; From the Sidewalk to the Catwalk definitely did not disappoint. His vision is unlike anyone out there which is the main thing that attributed to the success of his career. This exhibition was very reminiscent of McQueen's Savage Beauty exhibit at The Met back in 2011. Different designer, different aesthetic, on a much smaller scale; yet still amazing. There hasn't been anything quite comparable since then, I don't think there ever will be. However, Gaultier's exhibit almost came close.
